Jia Wu

Jia Wu is starting her second year as a PhD student in life sciences. She did her undergraduate at the University of California, San Diego where she received a bachelors degree in Bioengineering. As part of her scientific journey so far, she explored topics such as stem cell fate in fruit flies, computational modeling, and gold nanotechnology.

Her journey has led her to the labs of Dr. Lonnie Shea and Dr. Neda Bagheri, where
her current research focuses on using assays and computational tools to examine transcription factors involved in the generation of red blood cells. When she's not in lab, she enjoys playing sports, cooking, and photography.
