I am originally from Naperville, Illinois in the west suburbs of Chicago. I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign recieving a  bachelors degree in physics with minors in both math and chemistry. I am currently in my fourth year of a PhD program in physics at Northwestern University. My research is in the area of experimental condensed matter mesoscopic physics. I primary work with low dimensional carbon based materials e.g. carbon nano-tubes and graphene. By using a variety of low temperature and low noise techniques, I plan on investigating the interplay between these materials with superconductors, magnetic fields, and electric fields to probe new quantum phenomenon observed in these materials.
