Peter Ashton


Peter is a third year PhD student in Physics and Astronomy. His current work aims to determine the dynamical importance of magnetic fields in star-forming regions by observing the polarized emission from magnetically-aligned dust grains. Previously, he received his bachelor's degree in Astronomy and Physics from Boston University and worked as a scientific programmer in the U.S. Air Force's C/NOFS Data Center, developing methods to predict interruptions to communication and navigation systems due to space weather effects.
